Driving the Nepali way
Right-hand drive, left-hand traffic, and passengers who notice every hard brake.
Built from the real Nepal
4 routes and 30 bus stops. 31.9 km of real road from OpenStreetMap, with more than 15,000 buildings where they stand.
About 1 km of Lakeside Marg in Pokhara has been checked against photos taken on the street. Video footage of the routes is next.
Play anywhere
No download. On a phone, tablet or computer, with a steering wheel and pedals on touch screens, the keyboard, or a gamepad. Upright or sideways, with five cameras.
Install it from the game and it plays offline.
A real bus to drive
A five-speed manual gearbox with an automatic clutch, or a clutch pedal that can stall, or a quiet electric bus. Springs roll the body, and the long bus swings wide on turns.
Passengers and fares
Stop inside the yellow box, open the doors and watch people get off and on, in kurtas, saris and school uniforms. You earn fares, and lose points for a rough ride, damage and running late.
Rules of the road
Speed limits by zone, traffic police with radar guns, red lights, zebra crossings and the Thankot checkpoint. You are only fined if they catch you.
Real hazards
Potholes with puddles, unmarked speed breakers, mud and gravel, a landslide, roadworks with a flagman, and villagers and stray dogs who move only for the horn.
Sounds of the road
A musical pressure horn, the hiss of air brakes, and a conductor who warns of oncoming trucks in Nepali or English, with a whistle and two knocks on the body.
Day, night and rain
Drive by day or at night with headlights. In the rain, roads go dark and shiny, brakes bite less, the bus runs wide in fast corners, and the wipers clear the windscreen.
